...the LAST SUNSET of 2013...!

If you follow me on the Insta then you know I love love love a sunrise or sunset opportunity.....sunrises always remind me of when I started running in my early 20's in Santa Barbara.  I changed my lifestyle drastically and became someone who was excited to wake up, lace up my shoes and hit the ground - literally running.  I would typically go before my first college course in the morning so the sky was just waking up....the town was sleepy and not too many people would get to witness that special light show coming up over the mountains and ocean.  Those of us in the mornings that would be up that early quietly would say good-morning or give a little nod of the head acknowledgment to each other - like we were in this special club of people that figured out if you get up early in the morning, not only to you get the world to yourself a bit, but you get this watercolor painted in the sky....I loved it.

And sunsets are this closing chapter of your day......reminding you that another whole day of opportunity is coming. You slow down and stop for a few minutes...and stare, stare, stare...waiting for the sun to just hit the top of the ocean - maybe you see the "green flash".....and then the changes in the sky that happen after the sun sets are just incredible.  There are a million layers of color and they are all changing so fast that you can't possibly remember them all.  It's good stuff.

So, we went to catch the last California sunset of 2013 and she didn't disappoint.....Happy New Year!
